L1 Business Analyst (Statistics Associate)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a junior statistician/analyst with strong foundations in statistical modelling and predictive analysis. The candidate should understand model selection logic, interpret results, and communicate insights clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in designing, training, and validating statistical and predictive models for forecasting and classification.
  2. Support EDA, hypothesis testing, and statistical validation.
  3. Implement regression, classification, clustering, and time series models.
  4. Interpret model assumptions, metrics (RMSE, R², AIC, confusion matrix), and insights.
  5. Work with senior analysts to assess model performance and explainability.
  6. Collaborate with AI and automation teams to integrate insights into business solutions.

Required Skills:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Statistics or Mathematics with strong academic scores.
  • Basic knowledge of probability, distributions, sampling, hypothesis testing.
  • Familiarity with regression, classification, clustering, and time series (ARIMA).
  • Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) or R proficiency.
  • Knowledge of ML algorithms (Decision Trees, Random Forests, XGBoost, SVM).
  • Ability to combine statistical reasoning with ML implementation.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred (Good to Have):

  • Experience through internships or academic analytics projects.
  • Exposure to Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of evaluation metrics and overfitting control techniques.
